NYPD preparing to release bodycam footage of fatal shooting

NYPD officials are preparing to release as early as this week body-camera images of last week’s fatal police shooting in The Bronx.

Police Commissioner James O’Neill on Tuesday night made the announcement regarding the Sept. 6 incident, which took the life of 31-year-old Miguel Richards.

“We’re looking to release it as quickly as possible, hopefully this week, and move forward,” O’Neill said.

During the incident, cops fatally shot Richards when he came charging at them with a knife and a fake gun.
