Trump condemns ‘violence’ at white supremacist rally

President Trump on Saturday denounced the violence at a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, VA.

“We ALL must be united & condemn all that hate stands for. There is no place for this kind of violence in America. Lets come together as one!” Trump tweeted at 1:19 p.m.

His tweet followed a similar statement by First Lady Melania Trump.

“Our country encourages freedom of speech, but let’s communicate w/o hate in our hearts. No good comes from violence,” the First Lady tweeted at 12:36 p.m.

Virginia authorities declared a state of emergency in Charlottesville on Saturday afternoon and ordered people out of the park where protesters had clashed.
