Police: Man shot to death on South Side

A 24-year-old man was fatally shot Wednesday night in the South Shore neighborhood, according to Chicago Police.

Officers responding to a call of shots fired at 8:05 p.m. in the 6800 block of South Cornell found him in a gangway with gunshot wounds to the head and abdomen. He was dead at the scene, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office did not have information on the death, and the circumstances of the attack were unknown.
