With less than two months to the 7 March 2018 elections, NEC is busy recruiting polling centre managers, presiding officers, voter identification officers, polling centre queue controllers and a host of other positions. 56,000 people will be recruited to fill those necessary NEC positions.
The Director of Media and External Relations, Albert Massaquoi, said, “The 56,000 staff that will be recruited are to serve in the 11,200 polling stations across the country. These individuals must be Sierra Leonean and eligible to vote in the upcoming elections.”
The Commission is advertising for temporary staff for the 2018 General Elections. A full page advertisement was placed in several newspapers including Independent Observer on 11 January 2018. It should be noted that there is NO COST to an applicant to apply for one of these NEC jobs.
In the advertisement, applicants should apply at the NEC District offices and indicate what position they’re applying for. NEC is keen to hire women and those with disabilities. Interestingly, NEC is appealing specifically to teachers. “Teachers are also encouraged to apply,” according to the advertisement.
The deadline for applications is 20 January 2018
