Police search for hunter south of Fox Glacier on West Coast

Police are searching for a man who is two days overdue from a hunting trip on the West Coast.

Swedish national Hans Christian Tornmarck went hunting alone on May 12 in the Karangarua area, south of Fox Glacier.

The 27-year-old, also known as Christian, has not been seen since.

Police described Tornmarck as "tall" and said he would have been wearing prescription glasses.

The hunter was due out of the Karangarua bush area on Wednesday. An initial search was carried out on Thursday and Land Search and Rescue and police teams continued searching the Karangarua area and associated valleys on Friday.

Police said the area was isolated, and they wanted to hear from anyone who may have seen Tornmarck in the area.
