It will be a fine weekend for most, and an OK long weekend — for those lucky enough to be taking an extra day off.
MetService communications meteorologist Lisa Murray said most of the country could expect the good weather to continue.
"You might see some frosts overnight and some patchy fog in inland areas," she said.
That will burn off during the day, however.
The North Island will be mainly fine with a few showers lingering in regions north of Auckland.
A large sub-tropical low pressure system is developing in the Southwest Pacific, but will skirt around the country on Monday. The eastern cost of the North Island could get some decent-sized waves, Murray said.
"But that's not unusual for Gisborne."
Conditions will deteriorate on Monday for the lower and eastern regions of the North Island, with more cloud and the odd shower.
A front moving up the country may bring showers and a southerly, with associated cooler temperatures, down south and along South Island's West Coast.
The rest of the country can expect a mostly dry Anzac Day on Tuesday.
