The monarch spoke after a closed-door meeting with Governor Abiola Ajimobi at the Government House, Ibadan.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Akanbi led 11 beaded crown obas from Iwoland to the meeting.

He said the governor had displayed high level of courtesy and respect for traditional institutions, particularly that of the Olubadan.

NAN recalls that the Oyo State Government had, on August 27, elevated and installed 21 new Obas in Ibadan, the state capital.

The elevation and installation of the 21 Obas had generated heat, which led to a face-off between the state government and the Olubadan.(NAN)
